As we continue our travels throughout California and the West Coast, we couldn’t help but to stop by one of our favorite shops in San Francisco: Taylor Stitch. Taylor Stitch is an independent shirt-maker, where each shirt is cut, sewn, and completed by hand. Their San Francisco shop, located perfectly in the cultured and creative Mission District, is the only place to get fitted for one of their notable custom shirts. The customer has the ability to select a fabric from their large selection of quality materials, as well as a collar, cuff and front style, to create an ideal dress shirt. The Taylor Stitch shop also carries their very own woven silk scarves to bear the winds of the coast, handmade ties, quality denim and plenty of menswear products from local American designers. We especially love their flannel reproduction of the Mission Reds baseball team cap from the 1930′s line up. Aside from their beautiful custom-fitted shirts, they also have custom-measured shoes with designs ranging from penny loafers to chukka boots, with a variety of leathers and soles to choose from. They have a large American flag strung across the ceiling of the store with inspiration and art posters that cover the walls of their workspace in the back. There’s sliding ladders on each wall and use of wooden furniture and displays, creating a fresh and comfort environment to relax and indulge in. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, Taylor Stitch is the perfect place to accommodate your handmade, quality needs.
